Debutante

The Three Muses have 'hat' as their theme this week. Here's mine with a little addition. I've probably said this before, but I'm so glad I don't have to wear this kind of thing!

Jota

The Three Muses challenge is called 'art in the round'. Several discreet circles in my work today - namely the tambourine, all the sequins on the outfit, and the background pattern. A jota is a Spanish Dance.

Salad Days

The Three Muses have 'word salad' as their theme. I chose to home in on the word salad, but not it's traditional use. I think this expression was used by Shakespeare to denote youth or inexperience. A time before having to be grown-up.

Gazing at Earth

The Three Muses theme for this week is 'surreal'. This is late because it took me such a long time to get it as I wanted. The background and shoe were OK, but then I needed something else. After exploring chess pieces, topiary and flowers, I finally found these mushrooms which evoked a 'eureka' cry outloud! It's the little things....lol

In Flight

The Three Muses challenge is called 'Up, up and away'. I found a good tutorial (details below) and decided to work through it. I then created my own version of it.

Tiger, tiger

The Three Muses challenge #3 is 'wild things'. To me there's something fascinating about white tigers. This one looks so intent.I tried to subdue the colours in the surroundings so that the tiger would be the focus.

Elven Door

The Three Muses challenge 2 is doors. Here I played with various brushes and overlaying of backgrounds to achieve a rich colour.
The words are written with the font used on the ring from Lord of the Rings, and use the Elven greeting from the book. I was tempted to put a litle Hobbit in front, but felt it unnecessary!
