Dream a little Dream

The Art Creations Friday image is this beautiful lady. I have been so impressed by some of the backgrounds created by the design team that I decided to have a go at making one of my own, which I turned into an ATC. It's very textural - like molten rock.

Promenade

The Saturday Workout technique for this week is distressed gesso backgrounds. I love working with gesso, so really enjoyed making this card. I used 2 pages from a vintage book about London Promenade concerts, both of which I gessoed and inked twice over. I continued the distressed look along the borders too.

Plum and Gold

These are the colours set by the Graphicus blog January challenge, with the additional theme celebration. Birthdays are always cause for celebration! Although I used a plum named colour, this has come out remarkably pink!
A while back I received some Creative Acrylics as a free gift with an order from Elusive Images, so was pleased to use one here. I brushed over the sentiment with orange chalk, which gives a gold effect.

Day Dreaming

The Art Creations Friday site has given us another girl image to create with. Here's my version - I wasn't sure whether to use these words, or 'feeling blue', as I felt she looked a bit sad! The colours say it instead.

Numbers tag

The Tag You're It theme this week is numbers. I added my tag to another background to make a card.

I inked the brad and the washer with alcohol inks to blend in with the colour scheme. The background was inked, spritzed and placed in the embossing folder. As I don't have a cuttlebug machine, I used a rolling pin and elbow grease!

Love Hearts

This is a card I made for a valentine challenge on http://www.bloggingourartout.blogspot.com/(the blog attached to the scrapz shop). The instructions were to avoid the colours pink and red. The closing date is Sunday 25th, and the winner will be chosen through a voting system.

I've just seen that the Created byHand theme is hearts, so I'll add this.

Love is in the air

The Created byHand challenge was to use the word 'love', and the Theme Thursday theme is 'Couples', so when saw this image on the Tuscan Rose CD 3 I knew I had to put them together.

I treated myself to a new computer; which is wonderful. The internet connection is much faster (after the initial hiccup of not being able to get online at all), I no longer have to wait 10 minutes for it to boot up, and the memory is amazing, which means I can view all the images on the above mentioned CD rather than about a quarter of them!

Leo's Pears

I'm so pleased that the Lots to Do challenge site has not closed down after all. It's been taken on by Hilda, and her challenge this week is called In the News. We're to use newspaper on the card background.
I spread gesso onto the background card, and then newspaper onto that. When dry I pulled off the unglued paper, and then babywiped the dabbers around.

Timeless

The Saturday Workout challenge is to use the soot technique. I wonder how many people set their smoke alarms off doing this! I didn't, but regret doing it in my bedroom as there's now a burning smell in there. I hope DH doesn't notice!!

Hearts

Well, a belated Happy New Year to everyone. I'm back after a much needed rest. I didn't realise how run down I'd got until I stopped! Christmas for music teachers and their musical children tends to get a bit manic!

Here's my first offering - a contribution to the Theme Thursday challenge entitled Vintage Valentine.
